STEM Garden – Pre-build (Thursday May 5th and Friday May 6th) and Build (Saturday May 7th)
The Victoria Morse Memorial Garden Build Date is here – Saturday May 7th. This garden will be used for all STEM based learning and will also be handicapped accessible. Raised beds made of cedar will be used and the garden soil used will be organic. The design includes a number of areas that will be created over time with the raised beds being the first stage to be built on May 7th, Saturday. We will need as many volunteers as possible.
If you cannot help with the build we need volunteers to watch the kids at the playscape on that day – all family members are welcome to volunteer – grandparents, aunts uncles.
If the Build date of Saturday May 7th does not work we need help to prepare the garden area which we plan to do on Thursday and Friday of this week – please volunteer for that.
Please sign up at the following link:
Any tools and donations for food and snacks will be appreciated on the Build date – Saturday May 7th. Please sign up for it:
Thank you for your help.

(Left to right,) Ms. Knowles, Ms. Wright, Mr. Desautels, Ms. Pulyado, Ms. Cleasby and Ms Woodard each received three tablets for their classrooms. Attorney Jeffrey Dressler of MegaEducation joins the teachers (second from right.)
MegaEducation donated 18 Microsoft tablets to Annie Fisher STEM Magnet School so our teachers could create 6 technology-based centers using tablets for math and literacy intervention. Practicing skills in each content area on multimedia equipment such as tablets is interactive and provides immediate feedback to students through self-corrective features which can increase motivation and time on task. The centers will be held daily in the literacy and math blocks and apps loaded will be based on data-driven student need.
The technology requests were received by the PTO as Teachers’ Grants Requests. MegaEducation stepped up to help our PTO help our teachers.

MESSAGE FROM THE PREZ!
Dear families and teachers!
When I walk into a school — any school– but especially ours, I feel an almost palpable sense of community, of warmth, of family. Schools like ours are intimate spaces where everyone knows one another, where students feel at home, where they can be themselves, and relax into learning.
Our families, teachers and school staff, together, foster this sense of “home away from home” at Annie Fisher STEM. And that’s what our PTO is all about, too; helping to weave a true and strong community out of students and teachers from over 30 different cities and towns. It’s part of what makes us unique and it’s exactly what makes us diverse and strong: out of many, one. It’s the phrase, “It takes a village to raise a child” come to life.
Join us this year as we once again become that village, providing community events, opportunities to get to know and understand each other, to lift up and support the teachers and staff in their endeavors, and to bring fun — and funds– to the students of Annie Fisher STEM. There are so many ways to chip in and to help out.
Click here to explore volunteer opportunities and then to help us understand how you’d like to help out this year.
Together we are Annie Fisher STEM, we are Community, we are PTO.
